EBEC Challenge Iberia

General description

The European BEST Engineering Competition (EBEC) gathers many students from many places with one main purpose: to prove their ability to solve engineering problems whilst working in a team. These students have to first surpass and win their local round, after which they participate in the regional competition.

EBEC Challenge Iberia is the result of gathering the Spanish and Portuguese students who proved themselves to be the best engineering problem solvers of their respective local rounds.

Students compete on one of these categories:

Case Study: Confronts participants with a real business or engineering problem, which will have to be solved theoretically using the available information and technologies. In this category participants can explore their analytical abilities regarding technology. The most efficient, viable and complete solution will be the winner.

Innovative Design: In this category creativity and knowledge are combined in order to develop new technological designs or improve existing ones. Their professional presentation should demonstrate the technical, social, environmental and economic impact of their design.

This competition will take place in the Polytechnic University of Madrid from the 5th to the 8th of May 2023. There will be a total of 56 students representing 7 different universities spread out throughout Spain and Portugal. In teams of four, 28 participants will have to face two Case Studies competing for victory. Likewise, the remaining 28 participants will have to face two Innovative Designes.

Lodging:

Three meals per day, at least one hot

Public transport (car if it's an emergency)
