Have you always been fascinated by lights and everything shiny?

Do you want to know why fireflies glow and you don’t?

Do you want to learn what you need to connect that there will be light?

If your answer to any questions above is yes then our Summer Course is perfect for you. In one week in Ljubljana you will learn everything about light. From light pollution to handy and awesome homemade gadgets. But we will not learn only about light bulbs and LED lights, as you will also get some insight on how animals in nature produce light by themselves.

Content and topics:

During the course there will be addressed the following topics: Common usage of light in electrical engineering, the importance of light pollution, how some animals use bioiluminescence and how can we apply this knowledge in engineering

Learning goals and objectives:

The aim is that participants get to understand the "way of light", where can it be found, and how they and other living beings around the world use it. With the knowledge provided, students can build smaller projects using electronic elements that use light (LED lights, lasers).

Information for applicants

Selection criteria:

Participants will be chosen on basis of their interest in the topic as well as on their interest to learn what Slovenia is like.

Practical arrangements

All of the following are covered by the event fee:

Lodging:

Participants are going to be stationed in a student dormitory. It is the same as every year before. It's really nice, ask anyone. :

Meals:

A part of organising team is going to be responsible for food. That means you will get two warm meals per day and an awesome breakfast! And of course you won't need to pay for any of it.

Transportation:

You don't need to worry about cost of transportation during the event, because it is going to be taken care by organisers.
