Production Engineering & Management: Automation & Telematics - A view towards the 2004 Olympic Games

General description

Athens is being prepared to host the summer Olympic Games of 2004. The usage of new technologies such as dynamic traffic control systems, mobile communication systems, GPS, image processing, etc, allow for the employment of cost-effective, efficient telematic systems, that can play a key role in the successful organization of the Games. During the course, the participants will take a closer –inside- view of all these systems while enjoying the summer on the Mediterranean island of Crete.
