General description

Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.

/Nelson Mandela/

The last day at university. Diploma in your pocket and flowers in your hands. Everyone congratulates you and wishes all the best, you are a professional now. An engineer.

The first day at your new job. Pen in your pocket and documents in your hands. Everyone asks you thousand different questions, you have too much work to do and no idea how to deal with all of it. You understand you are not a professional yet. Why so?

Do you think you need more skills than those provided by your university? What could university, companies and students do to prepare you for professional life at university sooner, faster and easier?

We want to remove the gap between Teaching Profile and Professional Skills and it is only possible together with your opinion. We highly value your opinion and we want to inform the relevant stakeholders in the European Engineering Education! Be a part of this initiative and put an effort into changing your Education. Join us! We aim to gather ideas from students with different backgrounds in technical studies, in order to have outcomes that are valid throughout Europe!

Through a series of sessions, you will be able to state your opinion and introduce new ideas regarding to how to reduce the gap between what the industry needs from the graduates and what skills the university studies have provided to the student, discuss the learning objectives in the study curricula and focus on continuous professional learning.

You will have the opportunity to express your ideas and thoughts on educational matters through discussions, lectures and sharing sessions with professors and field experts, providing them with a global and critical view about the current education system.

Between discussions on education you will have possibility to get to know the beautiful city Riga and current EU Presidency country - Latvia.
